United Nations Day is all about informing people about the aims and achievements of the United Nations. Applehills Academy had a really exciting UN day this year, with lots of fun activities and learning about different United Nations countries. The morning started with an assembly to showcase costumes from different countries and explain the work done by the United Nations around the globe. The UN work to eradicate poverty, promote peace, equality and provide humanitarian aid to those that need it. It is important to celebrate the work they are doing. All the children had a lot of fun and learnt a lot about different UN countries. UN day is always an exciting day and important for both students and teachers and Applehills Academy can’t wait until the next one!
